Becoming a good interviewer

isn’t easy and it doesn’t happen overnight

Most business professionals receive little to no stakeholder interview training when starting out.

There's no money to invest in building your skill set. There’s no time for you to learn the mechanics of a great interview process. No time to understand the responsibilities that come with being a good interviewer.

You’re expected to just know, you know?

Such expectations, however, can trigger the development of poor interviewing habits and results. They can direct you to use quick tools like AI to collect and summarize poor information. They can direct you to follow approaches incongruent with work goals and working environments. They can make you think, "I just ask some questions and that's it."

The truth is you need time and the right support to develop a great stakeholder interview process and great interviewer skills. And not just at the start of your career but through its entire lifecycle, as you and your work grows and changes.

Here's the good news - support has arrived.

Do you feel confident in your interviewer skills?

  • Do you use your job interview experiences as the key reference point for how to conduct a client or stakeholder interview?

  • Is 'why' your favourite go-to question?

  • Have you spent hours on Google or using AI cobbling together an interview strategy or guidelines?

  • Do you struggle when faced with aggressive or apathetic or overly-invested interviewees?

  • Do you properly track and store interview results?

  • Are you muddling your way through client or stakeholder interviews based on what you think you should do?

  • Are you aware of all the components needed to conduct a great interview?

Answering your questions

  • What is a micro lesson & how long are they?

A micro lesson breaks down a topic into short bursts of information built around a key topic or goal. This approach makes it easier for learners to absorb content, and it has been shown to result in higher content retention and course completions. Micro lessons can range from 1 - 15 minutes in general. For this course, micro lessons range from 1 - 3 minutes, excluding assignments. Some chapters may have supplemental lessons which require additional time.

  • Can I work on the course using my phone?

The course site is fully mobile responsive. You can access it using your phone, tablet, or computer any time and anywhere!

  • How much time will the course take to complete?

Plan for 3-4 hours of total learning and activity time. It may be less or may be more depending on your learning style and how you spread out the work.

  • What do you mean by 'business professionals'?

By targeting this course to business professionals we're aiming to distinguish between people looking for job interview information and those who use client and stakeholder interviews as part of their work. If you're unsure, we've included a short course fit questionnaire further up this page to help you out. Also, feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to discuss.

  • Do I really need this?

Are you passionate about your work and working with people? Developing your skills as a professional can only benefit your personal and career development. But, hey, only you know what you need and if you don't need this course then don't do it.

  • Can I get a refund if the course isn't for me?

No. Refunds are not provided for digital courses. We believe if you work through all the course material you'll come out the other side with a ton of value. If you are unsure about enrolling, feel free to contact to discuss further.

  • Can I receive credit or CDU / PDUs for the course?
